Job summary

Bridgend College is seeking a Work Based Learning Assessor in Brickwork and Groundworks to mentor apprentices and relate practical site experience to accredited qualifications.

The role involves assessing learners on-site up to NVQ Level 2/3, mentoring across cohorts, and coordinating with employers to ensure training aligns with industry needs. A1/TAQA or willingness to pursue is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on Brickwork experience.
• Expert knowledge of current industry practices and safety standards.
• Drive and personality to inspire learners of all levels.
• Ideally, an Assessor qualification (A1/TAQA or equivalent) or willingness to work toward one.

Responsibilities

• Assess learners in their working environment up to NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Brickwork and Groundworks qualifications.
• Mentor and coach apprentices, providing guidance and support to master complex skills.
• Work closely with employers to ensure training meets industry standards and business needs.
• Track progress and manage the learning portfolio process.
