Key duties and responsibilities
  1. Manage a mixed caseload of formal insolvency appointments and assist team members.
  2. Administer insolvency cases from advice to closure, including Administrations, CVLs, MVLs, Liquidations, CVAs, and occasionally, Bankruptcies.
  3. Address and adjudicate creditor claims, including secured, preferential, and unsecured claims.
  4. Report to secured creditors.
  5. Assist in maintaining ongoing trading on-site as needed.
  6. Prepare documentation for statutory meetings.
  7. Assist employees with claims and liaise with redundancy payment services.
  8. Handle correspondence, including non-standard communications.
  9. Maintain accurate books, records, and inventories, ensuring their safekeeping.
  10. Conduct statutory investigations and pursue antecedent transactions.
  11. Handle estate monies correctly through banking and cheque requests.
  12. Complete VAT and Corporation tax returns.
  13. Ensure compliance with legislation, including SIPS.
  14. Update case tasks and diaries in IPS.
  15. Liaise with professionals such as agents, solicitors, and accountants.
  16. Prepare supporting documents for sales contracts.
  17. Maintain case checklists and attend meetings as required.
  18. Participate in marketing events and support team training.
Reporting, relationships & management
  1. Support and train junior staff.
  2. Assist other case executives as needed.
  3. Report case progress to the Insolvency Practitioner (IP).
Qualifications & experience
  1. AAT or CPI qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  2. Experience with corporate insolvency appointments within an IP firm is required.
  3. Knowledge of IPS Cloud is advantageous but not mandatory.
  4. Proficient in IT, including Excel, Word, and IPS.
  5. Maintain high professional standards and conduct.
  6. Self-motivated and proactive in keeping up with legislation changes.
  7. Excellent organizational and time management skills with flexibility.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Responsible and diligent in managing workload and deadlines.
  10. Ability to update the IP on case progress and potential issues.
  11. Enthusiastic and committed to completing tasks thoroughly.
  12. Represent the firm positively at networking events.
