Key duties and responsibilities
- Manage a mixed case load of insolvency appointments and assist team members.
- Administer insolvency cases from advice to closure, including Administrations, CVLs, MVLs, Liquidations, CVAs, and Bankruptcy cases.
- Handle creditors’ claims, including secured, preferential, and unsecured claims.
- Report to secured creditors.
- Assist in continuing trading on-site where needed.
- Prepare documentation for statutory meetings.
- Assist employees with claims and liaise with redundancy payments services.
- Manage day-to-day correspondence, including non-standard ones.
- Maintain accurate books and records, ensuring their safekeeping.
- Conduct statutory investigations and pursue transactions.
- Handle estate monies correctly through banking and cheque requests.
- Complete VAT and Corporation tax returns.
- Adhere to statutory compliance and legislation, including SIPS.
- Update IPS case tasks and diaries.
- Liaise with professional agents, solicitors, and accountants.
- Prepare supporting documents for sale contracts.
- Update case checklists.
- Attend meetings in and out of the office as required.
- Participate in marketing events.
- Train and support junior staff.
Reporting, relationships & management
- Support staff through training and delegation.
- Assist other case executives as needed.
- Report case progress to IP.
Qualifications & experience
- AAT or CPI qualification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience with corporate insolvency appointments within an IP firm is required.
- Knowledge of IPS Cloud is advantageous.
- Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and IPS.
- Maintain high professional standards and conduct.
- Stay updated with legal and best practice changes.
- Effective time management and organization skills.
- Ability to communicate confidently and clearly.
- Professional interpersonal, telephone, and writing skills.
- Responsibility for work quality and deadlines.
- Keep IP informed about case progress and issues.
- Enthusiastic and committed to task completion.
- Represent the firm positively at networking events.
