Key duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for a mixed case load of formal insolvency appointments, and assisting others within the team
  • Administer insolvency cases from initial advice to case closure, including Administrations, CVLs, MVLs, Liquidations, CVAs, and occasionally, Bankruptcies
  • Address and adjudicate creditors’ claims, including retention of title, secured, preferential, and unsecured claims
  • Report to secured creditors
  • Assist team in continuing to trade on-site where required
  • Prepare documentation for statutory meetings
  • Assist employees with claims and liaise with redundancy payments service
  • Handle day-to-day correspondence, including non-standard correspondence
  • Maintain accurate books and records inventories, and ensure their safekeeping and storage from company premises
  • Conduct statutory investigations and pursue antecedent transactions
  • Complete banking and cheque request forms to handle estate monies correctly
  • Complete VAT and Corporation tax returns
  • Adhere to statutory compliance and current legislation, including SIPS
  • Maintain and update IPS case tasks/diaries
  • Instruct and liaise with professional agents, solicitors, and accountants
  • Prepare supporting documents for sale contracts
  • Update and maintain case checklists
  • Attend and assist at meetings both in and out of the office when required
  • Participate in marketing events as required
  • Delegate work and provide training and support to junior staff

Reporting, relationships & management

  • Support other staff, including training and delegation to assistants
  • Assist other case executives where required
  • Report on case progress to IP

Qualifications & experience

  • AAT or CPI qualification advantageous but not mandatory
  • Experience with corporate formal insolvency appointments within an IP firm required
  • Knowledge of IPS Cloud advantageous but not mandatory
  • Good IT skills, including Excel, Word, and IPS
  • Maintain high professional standards
  • Self-motivated and proactive about updates in legislation and best practices
  • Organized, efficient, and flexible in managing time
  • Good communication skills and professional manner
  • Responsible for work quality and deadlines
  • Keep IP updated on case progress and issues
  • Enthusiastic and committed to completing tasks
  • Promote the firm positively at networking events
