Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Band 3 rotation in the Inpatient therapy service. You will work with an integrated team across stroke, medical, elderly care, orthopaedics and surgery to support patients to become as independent as possible.

The role includes assisting with prescribed treatments, maintaining records, and contributing to the department's smooth operation.

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare experience, ideally within an acute setting.
• Previous experience as a therapy assistant would be desirable.
• Good patient handling and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and information.
• Desire to support patients to become as independent as possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to qualified staff to deliver complex treatments to dependent patients.
• Assist with running the department, including data collection and equipment ordering.
• Participate in weekend and Bank Holiday seven-day rotas (1:4-1:6).
• Maintain electronic patient records and complete audit documentation.
