Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join an inpatient rotation at Band 6. The role covers acute inpatient services with a focus on patients with complex needs, supporting discharge planning and rehabilitation.

The successful candidate will work across Care of the Elderly, Medicine and Surgery with opportunities to expand into Stroke and Major Trauma paths, under supervision and with ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• BSc (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Post graduate clinical experience in an acute inpatient setting.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and clinical governance awareness.
• Membership of a professional body and relevant post-graduate training.
• Experience with MDT working and service improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of patients with complex physical, cognitive and psychosocial needs, using evidence-based practice and client-centered goals.
• Support education, supervision and professional development of students and staff.
• Develop and maintain enhanced clinical skills and knowledge aligned to service priorities.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Occupational Therapy service within inpatient therapies.
• Participate in 7-day working patterns as required.
