Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Medicines Optimisation Team. The role is based at Swindon Intermediate Care Centre and supports inpatient units across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire, contributing to safe, effective, patient-centered pharmacy services.

You will work with pharmacists, nurses and clinicians to optimise prescribing, reduce medicines waste and support budget management, while following national and local policies and maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician holding an NVQ Level 3 or other relevant qualification.
• Experience in primary care, community or hospital pharmacy.
• Ability to work autonomously within a wider multidisciplinary team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Support ward-based medicines management service across inpatient units.
• Undertake medicines reconciliation and medication reviews; manage supplies.
• Provide medicines advice to patients and staff; respond to queries.
• Contribute to stock management, audits, and medicines optimisation initiatives.
• Support discharge planning and patient self-administration programmes.
