Job summary

NHFT seeks a HCPC registered Art Therapist to develop inpatient art therapy services within adult inpatient care. You will work with a psychology team to deliver both group and individual interventions, expanding access to patients with communication challenges such as neurodivergence.

The role involves educating staff, managing referrals, and contributing to service development while maintaining person-centred care in a predominantly NHS inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Art Therapist with experience working with inpatients.
• Experience with complex patients / inpatients.
• Understanding of risk management.
• Experience of other therapeutic interventions.
• Supervision training and experience.
• Understanding of Structured Clinical Management.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly specialist assessment, formulation and intervention for inpatients.
• Hold a caseload on the ward with possible outpatient sessions.
• Educate inpatient staff about referrals for art therapy.
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care with colleagues.
• Support service development, audit and research.
• Provide clinical supervision to staff, trainees and volunteers.
• Work autonomously within professional guidelines.
