Adult inpatient services at NHFT are excited about developing psychological interventions on the wards to include an Art Therapist. The successful applicant will be working in acute and intensive psychiatric care with a variety of complex presentations.
We are excited about a newly created position for a HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist within adult Inpatient Services at NHFT. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing art therapy interventions within inpatient services because this will be a new specialism. The art therapist will be working as part of the existing psychology team. We are interested to broaden our provision to include patients who may struggle with other talking therapies. There is a male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Northampton and a female PICU in Kettering. Experience of complex presentations is required. We are thinking particularly of patients who are traumatised, may experience psychosis or difficulties that mean communication is difficult, for example autism and neurodivergence. We are keen to provide groups as well as individual interventions, for example The Tree of Life.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high quality, Person Centred Care.
Support and contribute to service development, audit and research.
Provide clinical supervision to staff, trainees and volunteers in line with experience and service need.
