Qualifications

• Must have QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related subject.
• Previous experience teaching Business Studies within a secondary school environment.
• Ability to teach GCSE Business Studies; A-Level teaching experience advantageous.
• Strong subject expertise and enthusiasm for business education.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Experience using assessment data to track performance and improve outcomes.
• Commitment to raising standards and student success.
• Collaborative approach to department and wider school community.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Business Studies lessons that engage, challenge, and motivate learners.
• Support students in developing commercial awareness and understanding of contemporary business practices.
• Plan and prepare lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
• Monitor student progress through effective assessment, feedback, and intervention strategies.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment promoting achievement and participation.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental resource development.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, professionalism, and academic expectations.
• Prepare students for examinations and support them in achieving academic goals.
• Take an active role in enrichment activities, enterprise projects, and wider school initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders where appropriate.
• Participate fully in departmental meetings, training opportunities, and school events.
