Job summary

veSync (EU) seeks a UK-based Patent Engineer to work with product designers, engineers and the IP team in China, focusing on early-stage innovation and concept development. You will assess concepts, identify patent opportunities and risks, and provide practical recommendations for design decisions.

The role mainly supports UK/European patent matters, with some collaboration on China and US matters, translating technical information into actionable guidance for engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering, science, technology or a related discipline.
• Professional experience in patents, technology assessment or a closely related field.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to engineers and non-IP stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assess potentially patentable inventions, prior art, FTO risks and portfolio opportunities.
• Translate complex patent and technical information into practical guidance for designers.
• Coordinate with external patent attorneys to translate advice into actions.
• Support UK/European patent filings and portfolio strategy.
• Monitor technology landscapes and competitive intelligence for IP planning.
• Collaborate with China IP team and, where appropriate, US patent matters.
