Job summary

Ericsson Reading invites a patent attorney with a strong background in engineering or physics to join our UK Patent Unit. You will collaborate with inventors on video coding and cellular technologies, drafting and prosecuting EP/US patent applications and coordinating national filings.

Develop and support licensing initiatives, contribute to portfolio management, and participate in projects to improve efficiency within a leading ICT company.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, physics or computer science.
• European Patent Attorney qualification or experience as examiner/engineer.
• Experience with drafting and prosecuting EP/US patent applications.
• Interest in video coding or telecommunications sector.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide IPR support for Ericsson’s R&D activities, collaborating with inventors on video coding.
• Evaluate inventions, draft and prosecute patent applications, coordinate national filings and claim charts.
• Support licensing and litigation initiatives.
• Take on responsibilities related to patent portfolio management where qualified.
• Contribute to internal projects to improve operational efficiency.
