Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation in Midsomer Norton seeks a Laboratory Technician to join the Customer Support team. You will support customers by performing laboratory testing, investigating complaints and preparing ink samples for new and existing clients.

You will collaborate with Technologists and global teams to gain exposure to various applications, technologies and challenges in the printing and ink industry.

Qualifications

• A-Level or degree-level education in Chemistry or related discipline.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and following defined procedures/SOPs.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Interest in ink chemistry, raw materials or related technologies is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support customer-related activities through laboratory testing and process improvements.
• Carry out experiments independently and with others.
• Assist with investigation and resolution of customer complaints.
• Prepare and dispatch ink samples to customers.
• Investigate manufacturing and product-related issues.
• Operate laboratory equipment safely and effectively according to SOPs.
• Maintain laboratory consumables to keep work progressing.
• Produce clear documentation and complaint reports.
• Apply technical knowledge to ink development and testing challenges.
• Learn print process performance and product application suitability.
• Collaborate with Technologists, Customer Support, suppliers and stakeholders.
