Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Tool Room Technician to join a manufacturing business in Leicester. You will maintain, service and repair plastic injection mould tooling, ensuring tools are ready for production and downtime is minimised.

The role involves planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and component replacement, working with Production and Toolroom teams to maintain tooling reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience with injection mould tooling or similar tooling.
• Solid mechanical fitting and assembly skills.
• Experience in a plastics injection moulding environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on plastic injection mould tools.
• Strip down, clean, inspect and service moulds and components.
• Identify worn or damaged tooling components and advise actions.
• Complete routine tooling repairs and replace components as required.
• Maintain mould bases, bolsters and tooling equipment.
• Prepare tooling and spare components for production requirements.
• Ensure moulds are cleaned, serviced and operational before return to production.
• Respond to tooling issues and support reactive maintenance when needed.
• Diagnose recurring tooling issues and suggest improvements.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and assist with PM schedules.
