Job summary

Ganymede is seeking a Toolroom Machinist in Leicestershire for a permanent role with an immediate start. The successful candidate will repair and maintain tooling, strip and inspect mould components, and manufacture replacement parts as needed.

You will work closely with production and the toolroom team to plan priorities and keep maintenance logs up to date. Experience with mechanical or mould tooling, precise mechanical fitting, and CNC/Milling skills (Mill, Turn, Grinding) are essential,

Qualifications

• Experience with tooling used in moulding industry (injection, extrusion) and tooling maintenance.
• Accurate mechanical fitting to tight tolerances.
• Manual or CNC machining skills (mill, turn, grinding).
• Quality-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Able to work autonomously with good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain tooling, following the tooling schedule.
• Strip, clean and inspect tooling and mould components.
• Identify defective components and recommend corrective action.
• Manufacture replacement parts in the toolroom.
• Plan and prioritise work with production and toolroom teams.
• Maintain accurate tool maintenance logs and service history.

I have been instructed by a well established company in Leicestershire to find a Tooling Technician for their business as part of a period of growth and development, this is not a normal tooling role and offers people autonomy and variety of position, which makes this an excellent opportunity, this role is a very important position and is the conduit between the toolroom and manufacturing to enable production and productivity stays at the required levels whilst the toolroom works on developing new tooling solutions

The Role

• Repairing and maintain tooling, working to the tooling schedule in regard to repairing and maintaining tooling usage
• Strip, clean and inspect tooling and mould components
• Identify defective components and recommend corrective action
• Manufacture replacement parts in the toolroom
• Work with the production and toolroom team to plan and prioritise work
• Maintain accurate tool maintenance logs and service history

About You

• Experience of working with mechanical or mould tooling
• Excellent and accurate Mechanical fitting to tight tolerances
• Manual or CNC Machining Skills (Mill, Turn, Grinding)
• A Quality mindset with strong attention to detail
