Job summary

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for an Injection Moulding Setter to join a busy, well-organised manufacturer in Ilkeston (DE7). You will perform efficient tool changes, set state‑of‑the‑art machines and work with internal customers.

This hands‑on role is day shift, Mon–Fri, with immediate start and a salary up to £33k depending on skills and experience. The role offers a friendly, collaborative environment with opportunities to develop skills in tooling and production, and

Qualifications

• Experience as an injection moulding setter.
• Experience operating injection moulding machines (Boy/Negri).
• Team player with can-do attitude and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Carry out tool, material and colour changes in an injection moulding environment.
• Set up and operate Boy and/or Negri machines.
• Recommend modifications to increase productivity and quality.
• Assist colleagues and take on tasks beyond day-to-day activities.
• Maintain production and visual standards.

The Role:

Thorn Baker are looking for a talented, motivated and experienced setter to join our clients growing team and help them deliver high-quality plastic components to their customers. As an injection moulding setter, you will play a pivotal part by performing efficient tool changes, setting state of the art machines and working with their internal customers.This is a hands‑on role where you'll lead by example.

Pay & Benefits:

• £30-33.000/annum (depending on skills & experience)


• x1.5 pay for overtime


• no weekend work


• day shift only


• 25 days holidays + bank holidays

Your Responsibilities:

• Carry out all necessary tool, material and colour changes within an injection moulding environment


• You must be confident on BOY and/or Negri machines


• Recommend modifications or improvements to increase productivity and quality


• Be flexible enough to assist colleagues and take on tasks that may not be part of your day‑to‑day activities.


• Ensure all production and visual standards are maintained and up to date.

Requirements:

• Experienced at setter level or equivalent within the injection moulding environment


• Experience working with Boy and/or Negri machines and injection moulding.


• Acan‑do attitude, approachable and a strong team player.


• Able to effectively set up all approved production tools to the correct setting conditions and production work instructions.


• Problem solving techniques within injection moulding.
