Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Certification Engineer - Initial Airworthiness for a contract role in Yeovil. The position is full-time hours, on-site three days per week, with a focus on early airworthiness certification processes.

You will plan and execute certification activities, liaise with authorities, review documentation, and support compliance across EASA/UK CAP requirements. Strong communication and project management are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Proven aerospace certification experience, specifically initial airworthiness.
• Comprehensive understanding of airworthiness regulations (EASA CS, UK CAA CAP or equivalent).
• Experience in certification planning, compliance assessment and documentation preparation.
• Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for regulatory correspondence and reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines within a project.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement certification plans and strategies for initial airworthiness.
• Analyze airworthiness standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Review designs, test plans and reports for certification conformity.
• Coordinate with design, test, quality and production teams to resolve issues.
• Prepare and present technical reports and certification documentation for regulators.
• Participate in audits, inspections and certification reviews by regulators.
• Monitor certification progress, identify risks and implement mitigations.
• Stay updated on changes in airworthiness regulations and industry best practises.
• Support continuous improvement of certification processes.
