Job summary

lowRISC CIC is seeking an Infrastructure Support Engineer to maintain our hybrid infrastructure supporting hardware design, security verification, FPGA testing, and open‑source workflows. You will contribute across on‑prem Kubernetes, Nebula networking, and cloud tooling while learning new technologies in a mission‑driven not‑for‑profit environment.

You will work with Python tooling, Terraform/OpenTofu, and GitHub Actions to keep pipelines reliable and productive.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux fundamentals and production‑like system administration.
• Python scripting for automation and tooling maintenance.
• Hands‑on Kubernetes operations and YAML manifests.
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform/OpenTofu.
• Solid Git/GitHub knowledge, ideally with CI/CD pipelines.
• Willingness to learn new tools quickly and communicate clearly.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot on‑prem Kubernetes for hardware simulation and test workloads.
• Support Nebula overlay network for zero‑trust across distributed teams.
• Operate self‑hosted GitHub Actions runners and FPGA test rigs.
• Improve Python tooling for daily use by hardware/software engineers.
• Manage NixOS servers with declarative configurations.
• Provision Google Cloud resources using Terraform/OpenTofu.
• Monitor system health and respond to alerts; document workflows.
