Job summary

DataSource Computer Employment Ltd. is seeking a senior Infrastructure Architect for a permanent, on-site role in London or Suffolk.

You will lead the design of on-prem, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure and perform hands-on implementation and testing while ensuring security and compliance in sensitive environments. You will own delivery against time, cost, and quality targets; provide third-line support for cloud infrastructure; mentor colleagues, and communicate complex solutions clearly.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux expertise.
• Hands-on experience with IaC and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).
• Solid understanding of network architecture (routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs).
• Experience designing complex on-prem/cloud/hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience in data centre IT environments.
• Ability to embed security requirements in design and delivery.
• Excellent problem-solving and clear communication skills.

Job description

Salary: £60,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need deep Linux expertise.
• We need hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
• We need a strong understanding of network architecture, including routing, switching, firewalls, and VLANs.
• We need experience designing complex infrastructure architectures across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• We need experience working within data centre and IT infrastructure environments.
• We need proven ability to embed security requirements throughout solution design and delivery.
• We need strong problem-solving skills with the ability to document and communicate solutions clearly.
• It would be beneficial to have experience with big data architectures and large-scale data processing solutions.
• It would be beneficial to have knowledge of cloud and hybrid data processing architectures.
• It would be beneficial to have scripting ability, particularly in Python or similar languages.
• It would be beneficial to have experience leading task delivery using a DevOps way of working.
• It would be beneficial to have a track record of owning project delivery against time, cost, and quality metrics.
• You will be required to hold a minimum of MoD DV Clearance or eDV.
