Job summary

A specialist secure technology consultancy in the United Kingdom is seeking a DV Cleared Infrastructure Engineer to support high-assurance UK Defence environments. This role involves designing VMware-based infrastructure and developing automation solutions, all within a hybrid working model. Ideal candidates will have active DV Clearance, strong experience with VMware technologies, and hands-on automation skills. Qualifications

• Active DV Clearance (sole UK national).
• Strong experience with VMware technologies.
• Hands-on automation experience using Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and support VMware-based virtualised infrastructure.
• Implement and enhance automation for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and supporting tooling.
• Support containerised workloads and hybrid cloud services.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with architects and delivery teams in Agile environments.
• Maintain clear technical documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deliver, and support VMware-based virtualised infrastructure, ensuring environments are reliable, scalable, and secure.
• Implement and enhance automation for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management across Windows and Linux platforms, reducing manual intervention and improving consistency.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and supporting tooling to improve the quality and speed of infrastructure and platform delivery.
• Support containerised workloads and hybrid cloud services with a focus on availability, performance, and security.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through scripting and infrastructure-as-code approaches.
• Collaborate with architects and delivery teams in Agile environments, embedding security best practices into day-to-day engineering activities.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the infrastructure estate.
