Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Linux/DevOps SME to join a high‑profile, onsite environment in Basingstoke. You will lead Linux‑based infrastructure, automate operations and drive CI/CD improvements, working closely with security and engineering teams.

This 12‑month rolling contract is fully onsite, outside IR35, with a day rate of £550–£650. The role demands hands‑on expertise to diagnose complex problems and guide pragmatic engineering decisions in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive enterprise Linux experience.
• Hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineering expertise.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Scripting/automation in Bash and/or Python.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
• Strong Git/source control understanding.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Container technology and orchestration familiarity.
• Networking, systems integration and infra concepts.
• Experience in secure, highly controlled environments.
• Independent senior SME capability.
• Problem-solving and communication skills.
• Current, active MOD DV clearance.

Responsibilities
