The role involves managing IT operations, infrastructure, and application support for our UK business, primarily at our Andover site, which is the main production facility for the UK. Andover also hosts our UK & IM business unit, along with global functions like HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and the Twinings Ovaltine executive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide IT service management for incident requests, problems, and changes within UK infrastructure operations.
- Serve as the primary contact for escalations, coordinating with IT teams, vendors, and support providers to resolve incidents.
- Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities, especially for incidents causing downtime or business impact.
- Ensure compliance with global service level agreements and KPIs, maintaining service quality.
- Meet regularly with stakeholders to review operational reports and service metrics, ensuring expectations are met.
- Maintain comprehensive support documentation and an accurate asset inventory for UK infrastructure.
- Manage the UK infrastructure budget and contribute to broader financial planning.
- Lead UK Infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery aligns with the PMO framework.
- Collaborate with manufacturing leaders to develop project roadmaps for manufacturing technology.
- Support infrastructure and applications with a robust model, including out-of-hours expertise.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and third-party providers.
- Coordinate UK business continuity planning and disaster recovery efforts, including annual tests.
- Partner with departments as an ITDR champion to ensure relevant plans are in place.
- Work with IT teams to implement service improvements across technology services.
- Integrate new technologies into business operations.
- Coach and mentor the UK digital workplace team, ensuring continuity and development.
- Represent UK in the international infrastructure community, sharing best practices.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong background in IT operations with hands-on experience across various technologies.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing and industrial settings, with expertise in automation systems.
- Ability to support critical technology in dynamic production environments.
- Experience working with global teams across different time zones.
- Knowledge of networking concepts like LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP.
- Understanding of IT security frameworks and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with risk management and compliance tools.
- Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM best practices.
- Background in change and project management.
- Broad exposure across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support operations.
