Job summary

Principal People are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to support a major infrastructure framework across Yorkshire. The role focuses on pipeline installation, heavy civils, excavations and water main replacement, with a hands-on, proactive safety approach.

You will influence decision-making, support the project lifecycle and partner with operations to promote a positive HS&E culture. Hybrid working is offered, with on-site and home-based days.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate required or equivalent.
• Experience in a Tier 1 contractor environment preferred.
• Background in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or highways.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HS&E support across infrastructure projects in Yorkshire and Northumbria.
• Work with operational teams to identify risks and improve safety performance.
• Review RAMS, Construction Phase Plans and project documentation.
• Provide guidance on temporary works, excavations, and plant interfaces.
• Support incident investigations and drive continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with operational teams, clients and supply-chain partners.
• Challenge operational practices to support safe, effective project delivery.
