Job summary

Principal People are partnering with a leading infrastructure contractor to recruit an Environmental Advisor to support major infrastructure projects across the Thames Water region. The role is hybrid with regular travel and involves implementing environmental strategy and ensuring compliance across project stages.

Qualifications

• Environmental qualification or related degree required.
• ISEP Practitioner membership or working towards is advantageous.
• Experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities or water sectors.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of the environmental strategy across the framework.
• Providing practical environmental advice and support to operational and site teams.
• Reviewing high-risk method statements, risk assessments and environmental documentation.
• Conducting site inspections, environmental reviews and audits.
• Supporting environmental compliance across all project stages.
• Investigating environmental incidents and non-conformities, identifying root causes and supporting corrective actions.
• Monitoring environmental performance through KPIs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Delivering environmental briefings, training and best practice guidance.
• Supporting supply chain onboarding and ongoing environmental performance monitoring.
• Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and regulatory stakeholders.
