Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers is seeking an Environmental Advisor to influence environmental performance across major infrastructure projects. You will support operational teams, provide pragmatic environmental guidance, and help implement compliance across the Thames Water framework.

You’ll collaborate with site teams, review risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement while travelling regionally and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Environmental qualification or related degree required.
• ISEP Practitioner membership or working towards is advantageous.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities or water sectors.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation and management systems.
• Confident communicator with ability to engage operational teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the environmental strategy across the framework.
• Provide practical environmental advice to site teams and operations.
• Review high-risk method statements, risk assessments and environmental documents.
• Conduct site inspections, environmental reviews and audits.
• Monitor environmental performance through KPIs and drive improvements.
• Investigate incidents and non-conformities and support corrective actions.
• Deliver environmental briefings, training and best practice guidance.
• Support supply chain onboarding and monitoring of environmental performance.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and regulatory stakeholders.
