Job summary

Principal People are partnering with a leading infrastructure contractor to recruit an Environmental Advisor to support projects across the Thames Water framework. This hybrid role requires regular travel across the region, working with operational and project teams to deliver environmental excellence and ensure compliance with legislation and management systems.

You will influence behaviours, provide practical environmental guidance on site, review risk assessments, conduct audits, monitor KPIs

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities or water sectors.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, management systems and risk management.
• Excellent verbal communication and ability to engage operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the environmental strategy delivery across the framework.
• Provide practical environmental advice to site teams and operations.
• Review high-risk method statements and environmental documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and environmental audits.
• Support regulatory compliance across project stages.
• Investigate incidents and determine root causes with corrective actions.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Deliver environmental briefings and training.
• Engage with clients, contractors and regulators to maintain strong relationships.
