Job summary

TXP is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join a hybrid IT team in the UK, covering on-premises servers, cloud platforms, and networking. The role involves resolving complex issues, driving monitoring and automation, and migrating services to the cloud while upholding security and governance standards.

You will administer Windows Server environments, support AWS and Azure, and contribute to proactive infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

  • Strong Windows Server administration including Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for enterprise infrastructure.
  • Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience producing technical documentation and using automation to streamline support.
  • Clear communication and proactive can-do approach; able to work independently.

Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer
Role Type: Permanent
Location: Birmingham, hybrid (some travel to Watford)
Salary: £40K - £45K

Our client is looking for somebody to join their IT team to support and improve a business-critical UK infrastructure spanning on-premises servers, cloud platforms and networking. You will resolve complex third-line issues, strengthen monitoring and automation, and help migrate services to the cloud while maintaining high security, compliance and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy and core infrastructure services.
  • Investigate and resolve complex third-line incidents across servers, cloud and networking.
  • Support AWS and Azure platforms and contribute to cloud migration projects.
  • Implement proactive monitoring, alerting and automation to improve resilience and efficiency.
  • Work with internal teams and technology partners to deliver secure, compliant infrastructure improvements.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and participate in an on-call rota, including support during key retail trading periods.
Key Skills
  • Strong Windows Server administration experience, with solid Active Directory and Group Policy knowledge.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.
  • Practical knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience producing technical documentation and using automation to streamline support.
  • Clear communication, a proactive "can-do" approach and confidence working independently.
Desirable Experience
  • PowerShell, Microsoft 365 administration, networking, Linux, SolarWinds or similar monitoring tools, and AWS services such as ECS, Amazon MQ and web applications.
