Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer for a hybrid role based near Leatherhead, Surrey (2-3 days onsite). The position supports BAU networking and a WAN replacement project, with a day rate up to £540 and a 6-month contract likely to extend.

You will work across networking, virtualization, storage, backups, and on-prem hardware, performing 3rd line support and contributing to change control and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar multi-disciplinary infrastructure role.
• Strong networking, virtualization, storage, backup, monitoring, collaboration tools, and on-premises hardware knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform 3rd line troubleshooting and own incidents, problems, and changes through to resolution.
• Maintain high-quality documentation including knowledge base articles and project artifacts.
• Support VMware vSphere operations including VM lifecycle management and host performance.
• Support NetApp storage operations including monitoring, capacity, LUN/share management, and engaging vendor support.
• Support Commvault/Veeam backup operations, address failed jobs, perform restorations, and ensure backup integrity.
• Provide support for Teams collaboration services, including troubleshooting MTRs, Teams Phone, and AV/peripheral issues.
• Support SolarWinds monitoring, triage alerts, analyse dependencies, investigate performance issues and escalate where required.

Our Client requires an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their existing Infrastructure Team. This role is a generalist infrastructure position with a strong networking focus, supporting BAU operations and assisting in the delivery of the Meraki-based WAN Replacement Project..

To be successful in the role you will already have experience in a similar multi disciplinary infrastructure position. You should be able to demonstrate capability across networking, virtualisation, storage, backup, monitoring, collaboration tools, and on premises hardware

Technical Skills:

• Support BAU operations across networking (Meraki LAN/Wi Fi), VMware, NetApp storage, Commvault/Veeam backups, Check Point firewalls, Microsoft Teams/MTRs/Teams Phone, Xerox Workplace Cloud printing, DHCP/DNS, and physical infrastructure.
• Assist with the WAN Replacement Project, supporting site readiness, pre/post cutover testing and some out of hours migration support.
• Perform 3rd line troubleshooting and own incidents, problems, and changes through to resolution.
• Maintain high-quality documentation including knowledge base articles and project artifacts.
• Support VMware vSphere operations including VM lifecycle management and host performance.
• Support NetApp storage operations including monitoring, capacity, LUN/share management, and engaging vendor support.
• Support Commvault/Veeam backup operations, address failed jobs, perform restorations, and ensure backup integrity.
