Job title: Infrastructure Engineer (full time, permanent)

Salary: Negotiable

Core Hours: 8.30 – 5.30, 9.00am – 6.00pm shift rotation, Monday – Friday

Location: London (some travel to other offices)

Reporting to: Head of IT

Role overview

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving all core infrastructure as well as providing exceptional IT support to all internal staff and off-site contractors when needed. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering timely resolutions to complex technical issues and maintaining smooth IT operations. Collaborating with the Head of IT, you will be an integral part of implementing innovative solutions, optimising systems, and fostering a proactive IT support environment.

The Infrastructure Engineer will be a key contributor to Oktra’s three main pillars:

Delighting clients by ensuring their experience with Oktra is high quality, accessible and professional in regard to all things data driven

Ensuring a happy team by supporting the IT team and the wider Oktra business teams with suitable support, development and training in all things data

Meeting our financial objectives by ensuring that Oktra’s targets are met and exceeded where possible

Key Accountabilities

  • Technical lead on IT projects.
  • Oversee all IT Infrastructure, ensuring robust and efficient systems, including resource management, load balancing, high availability, updates and monitoring.
  • Outage resolution, leading from incident through to route cause analysis and implementation of long-term solutions.
  • Security and Compliance management, CE+, vulnerability management, incident management, ISO27001 alignment.
  • Entra identity management, access control, PAM & PIM, User Risk management.
  • Entra application management and development of IaaS environment.
  • Business Continuity between Data Centre and across four sites.
  • VOIP management and improvement.
  • Audio visual upkeep and improvement.
  • Collaboration with other internal technical teams, visualisation, software development.
  • Be part of the service desk where needed to close infrastructure related tickets, as well as user if needed or escalated.
  • User training, tech adoption & inductions.
  • Core services upkeep and improvement, DHCP, AD, GPO, DNS.
  • Storage management, improving tiered storage from SAN and NAS to SharePoint.
  • Third party management.
  • High quality documentation creation and maintain IT policies, procedures, and configurations.
  • Own issues autonomously, fixing and delivering outcomes to staff, maintaining relationships.
  • Support team members, collaborating and supporting the knowledge-sharing culture within the IT support team.
  • Experience with SonicWALL and Unify is a plus.

Required skills and attributes

  • Experience infrastructure management, showcasing a strong background in handling complex technical challenges.
  • Expertise in Windows Server environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune and Configuration Manager) for efficient device management and software deployment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows 10 & 11 operating systems.
  • Strong communicator and sound people skills with all levels of the business.
  • Work well under pressure in fast paced environments.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and technologies.

  • Willingness to travel to other company sites when necessary to provide on-site support and build strong working relationships.
