Job summary

Ips Group is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer for a fully remote UK role. You will provide 3rd line support, troubleshoot Azure/M365 issues, and administer Intune/Autopilot across a cloud-first environment.

The role requires 5+ years in IT infrastructure, strong Azure and M365 expertise, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with the IT team.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in IT support or infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud administration.
• Good understanding of Microsoft 365, including Office apps, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Experience with user administration, access controls, Intune and Autopilot.
• Understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs and DNS management.

Responsibilities

• Provide 3rd line technical support to internal users via remote access.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Azure, M365 and IT infrastructure.
• Administer Microsoft 365 apps including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Manage Azure administration including user management, access controls and Autopilot.
• Act as escalation point for IT support team and manage tickets.
• Support infrastructure projects and technology integration activities.
• Assist with IT integration work arising from acquisitions.
• Maintain secure and reliable systems including network access and DNS.

Location: Fully Remote, UK

The OpportunityWe’re working with a growing insurance business looking to hire an Infrastructure Engineer to join its internal IT team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced 2nd Line Engineer looking to progress into a 3rd Line position, or an established 3rd Line Engineer seeking to broaden their technical expertise across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and cloud infrastructure.

You’ll play a key role in providing technical support across the business, resolving complex infrastructure issues and contributing to internal IT projects. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in infrastructure improvements and integration projects as the business continues to grow.

The role is fully remote, offering the opportunity to work from home while supporting a collaborative, business-facing IT function. Occasional travel to UK sites may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 3rd Line technical support to internal users via phone, Microsoft Teams and remote access.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and wider IT infrastructure.
• Support and administer Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
• Carry out administration across Azure, including user management, access controls, Intune and Autopilot.
• Act as an escalation point for other members of the IT support team.
• Manage and resolve support tickets, ensuring issues are handled efficiently and users receive a high standard of service.
• Support infrastructure projects, system improvements and technology integration activities.
• Assist with IT integration work arising from business acquisitions.
• Help maintain secure and reliable systems, including network access, VPNs and DNS.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the organisation’s IT environment.
• At least five years’ experience in IT support or infrastructure, ideally with exposure to 3rd Line responsibilities.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud administration.
• Good understanding of Microsoft 365, including Office applications, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint and Purview.
• Experience with user administration, access controls, Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
• Understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs and DNS management.
• Knowledge of Teams Telephony.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider IT team.
