Avanti is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer (3rd Line) to join a large multi-site environment. You will work on a broad range of infra projects across servers, networking, virtualisation, cloud and security, with a heavy project bias and hands-on delivery.
You'll troubleshoot complex issues, contribute to data centre modernisation, and support a unified communications rollout across European sites. On-site role based in the UK, with travel as needed.
Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys getting hands‑on with technology rather than being restricted to one specialist area?
Would you like a role where approximately 70% of your time is dedicated to infrastructure projects, with the opportunity to work across servers, networking, virtualisation, cloud technologies and cyber security?
We're recruiting for an established international manufacturing organisation that is investing heavily in modernising its IT infrastructure across multiple UK and European sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced 3rd Line Engineer looking for greater technical variety, interesting projects and the chance to make a genuine impact.
You'll join an established infrastructure and operations team responsible for supporting a large, complex, multi-site IT environment.
With approximately 70% of your time focused on projects, you'll be involved in a wide variety of infrastructure improvements, upgrades and deployments. Some of the key projects include:
Alongside these projects, you'll troubleshoot complex technical issues, maintain infrastructure reliability and work closely with colleagues across the IT function.
We're looking for an experienced, technically capable engineer who enjoys variety, takes ownership of technical challenges and is comfortable working across different infrastructure technologies.
Experience with Cisco, Meraki or HP networking would be advantageous, along with exposure to enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam or Rubrik. Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, or technologies including Barracuda, Ivanti, CyberArk, SIEM or Cylance, would also be beneficial.
We're particularly interested in engineers with a broad infrastructure background and deeper expertise in a few technical areas.
This is predominantly an on-site position based in Malton, North Yorkshire.
The on-call rota is supported by a first-line service desk, which handles most incidents. Escalations are relatively infrequent, and most can be resolved remotely.
Applicants must hold a full driving licence, have access to a car and live within approximately one hour's driving distance of the Malton site.
33 days annual leave, including public holidays, a pension scheme, life assurance and access to an employee benefits and discounts platform.
If you're an experienced Infrastructure Engineer looking for a technically varied role where you'll be actively involved in delivering projects rather than just maintaining existing systems, we'd love to hear from you.
