Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an enthusiastic Engineering/Design Manager for its MSW&W practice, based in Bristol, Cardiff or Exeter. You will lead multi-disciplinary design teams, manage design quality, and coordinate with project managers and clients across the UK.

The role combines office, client site and project site work with hybrid working arrangements. The ideal candidate is chartered or equivalent, with infrastructure project experience and strong BIM/3D modelling skills, plus a proactive,

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer, Architect or equivalent with proven multi-disciplinary design/build/operate experience.
• Solid grasp of systems integration theories across multi-disciplinary designs.
• Experience in infrastructure projects; NEC3/NEC4 contracts knowledge.
• Proactive, adaptable, collaborative mindset for flexible office/client/site work.
• Familiarity with BIM and 3D modelling tools and related data attributes.
• Strong client relationship skills and customer focus.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to lead teams under pressure and deadlines.
• Ability to travel across the UK and work away from home as required.

Responsibilities

• Author and maintain a robust Design Management Plan with discipline leads.
• Contribute to Project Execution Plan development and BIM Execution Plan.
• Coordinate design deliverables to meet time, cost and quality targets.
• Lead cross-disciplinary design reviews and CDM assessments.
• Liaise with Project Manager and discipline leads for resource planning.
• Promote continuous improvement and knowledge transfer within the team.
• Support commercial processes and change control with the PM.
