Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking Commercial Managers to join our Capital Commercial team in our Coventry, Derby and Shrewsbury offices. You’ll move beyond transactional procurement into end-to-end commercial ownership on major infrastructure projects.

You’ll lead tenders, contract management (NEC4), and collaborate with engineers, delivery partners and finance to drive value and manage risks across a portfolio of capital projects.

Qualifications

• Open to a range of backgrounds; Procurement professionals wanting to broaden into delivery-focused roles.
• Experience managing suppliers, contracts and commercial outcomes.
• Experience running tenders, negotiations or sourcing strategies.
• Exposure to construction or NEC contracts helpful but we’ll provide training.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial activities across capital projects and frameworks.
• Manage and develop Quantity Surveyors and early career professionals.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with partners and suppliers.
• Lead tenders, negotiations, and contract management (including NEC4).
• Challenge costs to ensure value for money across projects.
• Use data and insight to drive performance and continuous improvement.
• Identify risks and opportunities to support successful project outcomes.
