Job summary

PizzaExpress (Restaurants) Limited is seeking an Infrastructure & Platform Engineer to own and improve core parts of our multi-site technology estate including cloud, on-prem, networks and identity across 360 UK & Ireland restaurants and international sites.

You’ll deliver projects for openings, migrations and upgrades while providing expert 2nd/3rd line support and ensuring platform health, patching and disaster recovery. On-call duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Solid infrastructure operations experience across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Strong root-cause analysis skills and ability to deliver technical change from testing to handover.
• Experience supporting multi-site environments with hands-on ownership.
• Ability to manage outages, patches, backups, and disaster recovery testing.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve cloud, on-premise, network, server, storage and backup platforms.
• Work across Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory and Windows Server.
• Configure and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP and firewalls.
• Support Cisco Meraki, Fortinet and Palo Alto environments.
• Own platform health activity including patching, backups, upgrades, recovery testing and vulnerability remediation.
• Use PowerShell and automation to make everyday processes smarter and more efficient.
• Deliver infrastructure projects including new openings, migrations, refurbishments and upgrades.
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges and continuously improve our infrastructure.
• Take part in on-call rota and planned out-of-hours activity when required.

Behind every great PizzaExpress experience is technology that keeps our restaurants connected, our teams moving and our business trading.

We're looking for an Infrastructure & Platform Engineer to help keep that technology running brilliantly.

This is a hands-on role supporting a large, business-critical technology estate spanning around 360 UK and Ireland restaurants, 80 international sites, our bakery, London Hub and Restaurant Support. You'll work across cloud, networks, servers, identity, endpoints and infrastructure, while helping deliver the projects and improvements that keep our technology moving forward.

What you'll be doing

You'll own and improve key parts of our infrastructure, providing expert 2nd and 3rd line support while getting involved in everything from troubleshooting complex issues to delivering new restaurant openings, migrations and technology upgrades.

You'll:

• Manage and improve our cloud, on-premise, network, server, storage, identity and backup platforms

Who we're looking for

You'll bring solid infrastructure and IT operations experience within a multi-site environment, with the confidence to take ownership and get hands-on when something needs solving.

We're looking for experience with:

• Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune
• Azure and hybrid cloud environments
• Networking including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs, routing and firewalls
• Virtualisation, storage, backup, monitoring and disaster recovery
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
• Delivering technical change from testing through to implementation and handover.

Experience with technologies such as Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Veeam, HPE Nimble and Jamf would be a real advantage, alongside relevant Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, CompTIA or ITIL certifications.
