Job summary

PizzaExpress is seeking an Infrastructure & Platform Engineer to keep our technology running across 360 UK and Ireland restaurants, 80 international sites, our bakery, London Hub and Restaurant Support.

You’ll own and improve core infrastructure, provide 2nd/3rd line support, and drive projects from openings to upgrades, across Azure, Active Directory, Intune, and networking, with a strong automation focus.

Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on infrastructure and IT operations experience in a multi‑site environment.
• Experience across cloud and on‑premise platforms with responsibility for uptime and upgrades.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver projects end‑to‑end.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve key parts of the infrastructure across cloud, on‑premise, network and security.
• Provide expert 2nd/3rd line support and lead deployments for openings and upgrades.
• Configure LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, SD‑WAN, DNS, DHCP and firewall rules, and monitor health.
• Automate processes with PowerShell and drive infrastructure projects from testing to handover.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams and participate in on‑call as needed.

We’re looking for an Infrastructure & Platform Engineer to help keep that technology running brilliantly.

This is a hands-on role supporting a large, business-critical technology estate spanning around 360 UK and Ireland restaurants, 80 international sites, our bakery, London Hub and Restaurant Support. You’ll work across cloud, networks, servers, identity, endpoints and infrastructure, while helping deliver the projects and improvements that keep our technology moving forward.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll own and improve key parts of our infrastructure, providing expert 2nd and 3rd line support while getting involved in everything from troubleshooting complex issues to delivering new restaurant openings, migrations and technology upgrades.

You’ll:

• Manage and improve our cloud, on-premise, network, server, storage, identity and backup platforms
• Work across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory and Windows Server
• Configure and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP and firewalls
• Support our Cisco Meraki, Fortinet and Palo Alto environments
• Own platform health activity including patching, backups, upgrades, recovery testing and vulnerability remediation
• Use PowerShell and automation to make everyday processes smarter and more efficient
• Deliver infrastructure projects including new openings, refurbishments, migrations, refreshes and upgrades
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges and continuously improve our infrastructure
• Take part in the on-call rota and planned out-of-hours activity when required.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll bring solid infrastructure and IT operations experience within a multi-site environment, with the confidence to take ownership and get hands-on when something needs solving.

We’re looking for experience with:

• Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune
• Azure and hybrid cloud environments
• Networking including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs, routing and firewalls
• Virtualisation, storage, backup, monitoring and disaster recovery
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
• Delivering technical change from testing through to implementation and handover.

Experience with technologies such as Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Veeam, HPE Nimble and Jamf would be a real advantage, alongside relevant Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, CompTIA or ITIL certifications.
