Job description

Working pattern: 3 days per week in the office

The Opportunity

We are working with a leading global professional services firm to recruit an Infrastructure Analyst for an initial six-month fixed-term contract (no day rate applicants).

Joining an established IT Infrastructure team, you will play an important role in supporting and maintaining the firm's UK and wider global infrastructure. The environment is predominantly cloud-based, with several upcoming workstreams focused on Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant migration, enterprise applications and associated infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on infrastructure professional who enjoys solving complex technical issues, working across a broad technology environment and supporting business-critical systems.

The role is available from either the London or Liverpool office, with three days per week required in the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and wider cloud infrastructure.
  • Support Exchange Online, on-premises Exchange, Active Directory and Entra ID/Azure AD.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant migration activities and associated enterprise application integrations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot enterprise applications, including SAML SSO and SCIM user provisioning.
  • Manage virtual server environments, including Hyper-V and Azure IaaS.
  • Support networking infrastructure, including switches, routing, VLANs, Wi‑Fi, firewalls and VPNs.
  • Manage backup and restore processes, system monitoring, auditing and reporting.
  • Lead on escalated and time‑critical technical issues, providing third‑line support where required.
  • Work with internal security teams and third‑party suppliers to investigate issues and maintain a secure, reliable environment.
  • Participate in change management processes, including presenting changes through the relevant approval procedures.
  • Maintain technical documentation, processes and policies, assisting with planned and out‑of‑hours work where required.
Skills and Experience

We are looking for a technically strong infrastructure professional with experience across a broad range of Microsoft technologies and enterprise infrastructure.

Essential experience includes:
  • Strong hands‑on administration of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, including MFA, Conditional Access and relevant cloud services.
  • Experience with on‑premises Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policy and Azure AD Connect.
  • Experience configuring enterprise applications, SAML single sign‑on and SCIM provisioning.
  • Virtual server build and administration experience, ideally with Hyper‑V and Azure.
  • Practical knowledge of networking, including firewalls, switches, VLANs, routing and VPNs.
  • Experience troubleshooting security alerts and working alongside information security teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage escalations independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, suppliers and wider business stakeholders.

Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft remote access solutions, Veeam, Microsoft Data Protection Manager or Azure Site Recovery would be advantageous.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be proactive, organised and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, business‑critical environment. You should be able to get up to speed quickly, take ownership of technical issues and contribute effectively to ongoing infrastructure projects.

Previous experience within a professional services environment would be beneficial.
