Peaple Talent has partnered with a leading professional service company based in central Cardiff, recruiting an experienced Head of IT to lead their IT function. This critical role will support a team serving approximately 750 staff members, ensuring the smooth implementation of the existing IT strategy, managing daily IT operations, and maintaining high standards of IT service delivery and infrastructure security.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Strategy Implementation: Oversee the execution of the IT strategy aligned with company goals, ensuring timely delivery of IT projects.
  2. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor IT staff, including the Service Desk Manager, Service Delivery Manager, and IT Security & Operations Manager. Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment.
  3. Service Desk Management: Ensure efficient operation of the service desk, supporting staff across multiple offices.
  4. Service Delivery: Ensure IT services meet business needs and SLAs, implementing best practices for continuous improvement.
  5. Infrastructure and Operations: Lead infrastructure initiatives to ensure system robustness and compliance, managing operational risks.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management to understand IT needs and communicate initiatives effectively.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven senior IT management experience, preferably within legal or professional services sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Experience in implementing IT strategies and leading large projects.
  • Excellent leadership, team development, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills across organizational levels.
