Technology Assurance Analyst
Hybrid / London office based

Astrum Search is delighted to be supporting a forward thinking research and technology (FinTech) company that specialises in financial research, IT infrastructure, and machine learning.
As part of the commercially focussed Controls Assurance team you will be a problem solver, conducting reviews of critical business processes as well as key technology projects. You will assess key business risk areas, particularly across the change portfolio, providing the Board and Senior Leadership team with sensible observations that will improve the business.
Responsibilities:
• Lead deep-dive assessments of sophisticated tech platforms, applications and core infrastructure within a trading environment
• Collaborate with developers and engineers to build a strong grasp of the technical landscape, while applying a business-first risk mindset
• Conduct risk evaluations and assurance work across critical engineering functions
• Use creative testing strategies to generate insight-rich, data-led findings
• Integrate data into all stages of the review process – from planning and fieldwork to reporting and follow-up
• Present concise and high-impact summaries of risk areas and recommendations for senior stakeholders
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Strong academic foundation, ideally a 2:1 or above in Computer Science or a similar discipline
• Solid grasp of modern software development methods, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD
• Prior experience in a second or third line risk, audit, or assurance function - financial services background required
• Confident operating in fast-paced environments where system reliability and adaptability are mission-critical
• Skilled in working with datasets and solving problems with a structured approach
• Familiarity with analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx or coding in Python is a plus
