Technology Assurance Analyst

Hybrid / London office based

Astrum Search is supporting a forward-thinking research and technology (FinTech) company specializing in financial research, IT infrastructure, and machine learning.

As part of the Controls Assurance team, you will conduct reviews of critical business processes and key technology projects, assessing business risk areas, especially within the change portfolio, providing insights to improve the business.

Responsibilities:

• Lead assessments of sophisticated tech platforms, applications, and infrastructure in a trading environment
• Collaborate with developers and engineers to understand the technical landscape with a business-first risk approach
• Perform risk evaluations and assurance work on engineering functions
• Apply creative testing strategies to generate insightful, data-led findings
• Integrate data throughout the review process, from planning to reporting
• Present risk summaries and recommendations to senior stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong academic background, ideally 2:1 or above in Computer Science or related field
• Understanding of modern software development methods like Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD
• Experience in second or third line risk, audit, or assurance, with a financial services background
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments where system reliability is critical
• Proficient in working with datasets and problem-solving with a structured approach
• Knowledge of analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or Python is a plus
