Job summary

The Animal and Plant Health Agency is seeking an Information Rights Officer to support its Information Rights service, handling requests under FOIA, EIR, and the Data Protection Act. You will ensure timely, accurate responses while upholding compliance policies and contributing to a culture of openness and continuous improvement.

You will advise colleagues on Information Rights processes, maintain accurate records, and help develop guidance and procedures across APHA.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FOIA, EIR, and Data Protection legislation.
• Practical experience handling information requests or working in a regulatory/compliance environment.
• Experience in fast-paced settings with varied priorities.

Responsibilities

• Process and coordinate Information Rights requests within statutory deadlines.
• Draft responses, support internal reviews and ICO enquiries, maintain records in the eCase system.
• Provide guidance on Information Rights legislation and best practices to colleagues.
