Job summary

The Animal and Plant Health Agency is seeking an Information Rights Officer in Wales to manage FOI, EIR, and data subject requests. You will ensure requests are handled efficiently and in line with legislative requirements, supporting openness and continuous improvement.

You will advise colleagues, maintain accurate records, and contribute to APHA's information rights guidance and publication schemes, while collaborating with Defra Group and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FOIA, EIR, and Data Protection legislation.
• Experience handling information requests or working in a regulatory/compliance environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Process and coordinate Information Rights requests with statutory deadlines.
• Draft responses and support internal reviews and ICO enquiries.
• Maintain accurate records and use the eCase system effectively.
• Provide advice on Information Rights legislation and best practices.
• Promote information governance and records management across APHA.
