Job summary

Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is seeking an Information Rights Officer to support its Information Rights service. You will ensure requests under FOIA, EIR, and the Data Protection Act are handled efficiently, accurately, and in line with legislative requirements, promoting openness and continuous improvement.

You will liaise across APHA, Defra Group and external stakeholders, provide advice on information governance, and support development of guidance and processes to maintain accurate

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FOIA, EIR and Data Protection legislation.
• Practical experience handling information requests or working in regulatory/compliance environment.
• Experience in fast-paced settings with varied and shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Process and coordinate Information Rights requests with statutory deadlines and procedures.
• Manage Information Rights casework: drafting responses, internal reviews, ICO enquiries, and record-keeping via eCase.
• Provide guidance on Information Rights legislation, processes and best practice.
