Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Information Manager / Document Controller to join a major, high-profile aviation project with a leading Tier 1 contractor at Gatwick Airport.

This is a critical appointment to oversee the management, distribution, and governance of all project information and technical documentation in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment. The client is flexible on engagement type and is ready to move quickly for the right candidate, offering either an immediate contract (outside IR35 dependent on assessment) or a permanent staff position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Information Management: Implement and manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) and project information management systems in compliance with ISO 19650 standards.
  • Document Control: Manage the end-to-end document review and approval workflow for all incoming and outgoing technical submittals, drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality checks on metadata, numbering conventions, and revision statuses before distribution to internal teams, subcontractors, and the client.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for all information management queries, liaising closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and airport stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Auditing: Generate regular status reports on document registers, outstanding reviews, and contractor submittal performance. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance.
  • Training & Support: Provide onboarding, software training, and ongoing support to project team members regarding document control protocols and system usage.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven track record working as a Document Controller or Information Manager, ideally within a Tier 1 contractor environment or major infrastructure/aviation projects (ideally Gatwick).
  • Standards Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of ISO 19650 standards and BIM (Building Information Modeling) protocols.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience on Viewpoint/Fieldview and PowerBi as well as Gatwick process experience would be ideal
  • Aviation/Security Clearance: Previous experience working within an airport environment (specifically Gatwick or other major UK airports) and familiarity with airside security protocols / CTC clearance processes is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized, and capable of managing large volumes of technical data under tight project deadlines.
What We Offer
  • Flexibility: Open to both permanent employment (with competitive salary and benefits package) or day-rate contracting.
  • Urgency: Immediate start available for candidates who can hit the ground running.
  • Impact: Play a key role in the delivery of critical infrastructure at one of the UK's busiest international airports
