Job summary

NHS Dorset is seeking an Information Governance Officer to support the Integrated Care Board in meeting statutory and regulatory information governance obligations. The role focuses on data protection, confidentiality and information security across the health and care system.

You will provide guidance on information governance, manage information rights requests, assist with DPIAs and DSAs, and contribute to governance policy development while ensuring accurate records and reports are

Qualifications

• Provide advice and guidance on information governance, data protection, confidentiality, records management and information security requirements.
• Support management of information rights requests (SARs, FOI) and other disclosures of information.
• Assist with investigations, management and reporting of information governance incidents and data breaches.
• Support compliance with DSPT and related regulatory frameworks.
• Contribute to development and implementation of IG policies and guidance.
• Undertake audits and compliance reviews to identify improvements.
• Maintain records of processing activities and information governance documentation.
• Assist with DPIAs, DSAs and information sharing arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to ICB staff on information governance, data protection, confidentiality, records management and information security requirements.
• Support the management of information rights requests, including SARs and FOI requests, and other disclosures of information.
• Assist with investigation, management and reporting of information governance incidents, data breaches and near misses with lessons learned and improvements.
• Support DSPT compliance and other assurance/regulatory frameworks.
• Contribute to development, review and implementation of information governance policies and guidance.
• Undertake audits and compliance reviews to assess adherence and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain records of processing activities and governance documentation; assist with DPIAs and DSAs.
• Keep abreast of changes in legislation and NHS guidance to respond to emerging IG requirements.
