The London Borough of Bromley is seeking an Information & Advice Generalist Adviser to support older people, carers and families. You will provide rights-based advice on welfare benefits, housing and care, and carry out benefits checks, claims and appeals, helping clients understand their rights.

Working mainly face-to-face, by phone and email, with some outreach and home visits, you will split your time between Bromley and Greenwich and travel between sites as required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills are essential.

• At least two years' experience providing rights-based advice.

A highly valued role within our team, the Information & Advice Generalist Adviser provides essential support to older people, their carers and families. You will deliver high-quality, rights-based advice on a range of issues including welfare benefits, housing and care. This includes carrying out benefits checks, assisting with claims and appeals and helping clients understand their rights and make informed decisions.

Working primarily through face-to-face appointments, telephone and email, with some outreach and home visits, this is a varied and rewarding role. You will need excellent communication skills, a compassionate approach and at least two years' experience in providing rights-based advice.

This is an office-based role, with your time split between our Bromley and Greenwich locations. Applicants must be comfortable working in an office environment and travelling between both locations as required.
