Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking an IPC Practitioner to join the Infection Prevention and Control team at St Mary's Hospital, Newport, Isle of Wight. The role is full-time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week, within NHS Band 3, offering opportunities to enhance patient safety and IPC knowledge.

You will work across sites in a multi-trust environment, promoting best practices, leading audits, and contributing to outbreak management and education programs for staff and patients.

Qualifications

• NVQ III in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent numeracy/literacy.
• Experience using Word, Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of safe and effective care with Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team.
• Champion infection prevention standards across the organisation.
• Lead and support audits, surveillance activities and compliance monitoring.
