Job summary

BCUHB in North Wales invites applications for an Infection Prevention role at Band 4 level based at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The post is permanent full-time (37.5 hours) with a focus on supporting the Infection Prevention team to deliver the strategic plan and drive improvements.

Responsibilities include leading infection prevention audits, undertaking surveillance, and ensuring policy posters are displayed correctly across the hospital.

Qualifications

• Evidence of continuous professional development.

• Ability to undertake audit and understanding of audit methodology.
• Previous experience in Infection Prevention.

Responsibilities

• To assist and support the Infection Prevention team with the delivery of the Infection Prevention Improvement plan.
• Lead in Infection Prevention audit activities e.g Environmental monitoring audit, Hand hygiene audit, Isolation audit, care bundle compliance and report findings.
• To undertake surveillance activities as directed including basic data collection to support surveillance programmes (demographics, device utilization etc).
• Ensure Infection Prevention posters and other materials are displayed correctly across the hospital.
• Organise and prioritise workload with direction and supervision of the senior members of the Infection Prevention Team.
