Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in Wales is seeking a Band 4 Infection Prevention practitioner to support the Infection Prevention team in delivering the Strategic Improvement Plan at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The role focuses on audits, surveillance, and ensuring display of prevention materials across the site.

• Evidence of continuous professional development

• Ability to undertake audit and understanding of audit methodology
• Previous experience in Infection Prevention

Responsibilities

• To assist and support the Infection Prevention team with the delivery of the Infection Prevention Improvement plan.
• To lead in Infection Prevention audit activities e.g Environmental monitoring audit, Hand hygiene audit, Isolation audit, care bundle compliance and report findings to the Infection Prevention Sister.
• To undertake surveillance activities as directed including basic data collection to support surveillance programmes (demographics, device utilization etc).
• Ensure Infection Prevention posters and other materials are displayed correctly across the hospital.
• Assist in other duties as appropriate to competency.
• Organise and prioritise workload with direction and supervision of the senior members of the Infection Prevention Team.
