Job summary
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust seeks a midwife to lead the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation within maternity services, improving breastfeeding initiation and continuation across Stockport. You will update infant feeding policy and work with the Infant Feeding Co-ordinator to ensure policy and practice are aligned.
You will develop and deliver infant feeding training to all maternity and neonatal staff, collaborating with Startwell Stockport and the Neonatal infant feeding Links to
Qualifications
- Registered Midwife on UK NMC register.
- Evidence of professional/academic development.
- Leadership course evident or working towards.
- Specialist lactation qualification/training or willingness to undertake.
- Specialist clinical skills in Tongue Tie (Frenulotomy) or willingness to undertake.
- Frenulotomy trained.
- IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).
Responsibilities
- Lead the UNICEF BFI accreditation process within maternity services.
- Update infant feeding policy and communicate with all staff groups.
- Develop and deliver infant feeding training for maternity and neonatal staff.
- Work closely with the Infant Feeding Co-ordinator (Startwell Stockport) and Neonatal infant feeding Links.
