Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Midwife to lead the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation within maternity services in Stockport. You will oversee frenulotomy service training and ensure documentation aligns with Trust guidelines while coordinating with the Infant Feeding Co-ordinator.

The role involves reviewing and updating infant feeding policies, delivering targeted training to maternity and neonatal staff, and promoting best practices across the service.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife on UK NMC register.
• Evidence of ongoing professional/academic development.
• Leadership course evident or currently pursued.
• Specialist lactation qualification or willingness to undertake.
• Specialist Frenulotomy skills or willingness to undertake.

Responsibilities

• Lead UNICEF BFI accreditation within maternity services to improve breastfeeding initiation and continuation.
• Update infant feeding policy and communicate with all staff groups.
• Develop and deliver infant feeding training with the Infant Feeding Co-ordinator and Neonatal links.
